Ways to hire a (good) insurance agent:
- Advertising in the magazines which specifically relates to your cars (i.e. Camaro Magazine)
- Your local yellow pages always have many local and reliable agents, call around till you find the most reasonable rate or someone you want to work with.
- Seek out an agent that actively listens and asks relevant questions.
- Don't do business with someone you don't like or have a bad feel about.
- Get printouts of any proposal the agent offers.
- Deal only with an agent who finds you a policy you can afford & need.
- Don't take the first insurance agent you meet, unless you are still impressed after talking to several others.
- Contact at least five different agents. Consider using an insurance broker who can help you comparison shop.
- Ask for customer references and contact some of them to find out how they like the agent and their services.
- Measure how quickly an agent responds to your needs, compared to other agents.
